Welcome to the Website of
Lord of New Life Lutheran Church!

Lord of New Life is a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) and seeks to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ in Word and Sacrament.

LORD OF NEW LIFE LUTHERAN WILL RESUME IN PERSON WORSHIP SERVICES SUNDAY, JUNE 14 WITH THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES:

At the direction of both the LCMS and the Michigan District, we will follow the recommendations of the CDC and our government in returning to “regular” worship at Lord of New Life. The date that has been selected, subject to further changes by the elected officials, is June 14.

We will use common sense. If you are in the high risk category, are sick or have been in contact with the coronavirus stay home and stay safe for yourself and others’ safety. No one should feel obligated to attend if they have concerns for their safety gathering in person.

The church has been and will be cleaned and sanitized prior to each service, with special focus on any common on any common use areas, door handles, restrooms, etc.

If you are comfortable wearing a mask, please do so. Others may have reasons for not wearing a mask, so please be understanding of each individual’s comfort level. All are expected to maintain appropriate social distancing as much as possible. Before you come to church, make sure you bring your mask or other PPE items with you. The church has a limited supply of hand sanitizer.

Weather permitting, the entry doors to the church will be propped open, so that no one needs to touch them. We will close the outside doors during the service but will open them again prior to the close of service.

We will eliminate the greeting at the beginning of the Worship Service.

We encourage people to sit as families, but to maintain six-foot personal social distancing space between families. To assist will proper distancing, we may close every other pew.

There will be no passing of the offering plate. The plates will be set in the Fellowship Hall of the church for worshipers to place their offerings in as they enter or leave the service.

Communion procedures will be as follows – we will exit the pews to the center aisle and return down the side aisle, maintaining six-foot social distancing between families.  The Pastor and Communion Assistant will sanitize prior to and during the distribution and will place the host in your hand and the individual cup will be given to you as you walk by.  There will be a common blessing at the conclusion of the distribution.

To help us maintain social distancing as we leave church:

  • An usher will excuse worshipers pew by pew
  • Pastor will not shake hands following the service by will greet from a safe distance.
  • Please continue to maintain appropriate social distancing if you choose to interact with others as you leave the Fellowship Hall and in the parking lot.

Until further notice, there will be no coffee hours or monthly potluck dinners.

If you have questions and concerns, please bring them to the attention of a member of the Board of Disciples or the Pastor. We may not get everything right every time as we too are learning to navigate this new reality. Thank you for your patience with us.

Thank you for your continued prayers for your church and all our members.

Rev. Carl F. Trosien

Pastor, Lord of New Life Lutheran Church

If you are looking for a church home or just a place to worship this Sunday, you will find a welcoming congregation who will rejoice with you in the grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

If you are not yet baptized nor a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, please do not hesitate to join us as well! We would be honored to have you with us and happy to answer any questions you may have.

We believe the church is not a place for the strong but for the weak. It is not a gymnasium to flex our spiritual muscles but a hospital for the sick. Here we receive the only medicine for our souls, the Gospel - the blessed announcement that our sins have been forgiven through the death, burial, and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

We look forward to worshiping with you soon.

Our church name, Lord of New Life Lutheran, reminds us that God in Christ is indeed the Lord of our new life - He has already accomplished everything for our salvation.

And those that received new life in Christ are to invite others to receive the free gift of salvation and new life in His name.

And so we invite you to come and hear the good news that your sins have been forgiven in Christ.
